Editorial standards

We rank fit, not feature count.

A landlord with two units and a property manager with two hundred units should not get the same recommendation. Our reviews start with the operating job, portfolio size, and real cost.

What we evaluate

  1. Core job coverage: whether the product completes the workflow it promises.
  2. Portfolio fit: setup effort, permissions, reporting, and cost as unit count changes.
  3. Tenant experience: applications, payments, documents, and maintenance requests.
  4. Price clarity: subscription, per-unit, transaction, add-on, and implementation costs.
  5. Data portability: whether landlords can export the records they depend on.

How we research

We prioritize official product pages, pricing documentation, help centers, and direct product use where available. Every page displays a review date. Material pricing or feature changes trigger an update.

How we make money

Top Landlord Tools may earn a commission when a reader chooses a product through an affiliate link. A commercial relationship never changes our verdict, and paid placements will be visibly labeled. See the full affiliate disclosure.

What we do not do

We do not sell rankings, publish undifferentiated AI summaries, or create thousands of near-duplicate pages. Each programmatic page must answer a distinct search intent with product-specific data, a clear recommendation, and useful internal links.
